inorbit shopping mall at malad in mumbai

had some work at inorbit mall today. though this wasn't the first mall to come up in mumbai, i think it was the first that resembles one of those large US malls; with a wide drive in, a long road frontage, dead walls facing the road, with static advts on them, a sprawling single level, open-air car park at the back ... and the way the landscaping is carried out along the entire length, the mall gets completely cordoned off from the road. a shopping haven bordered by an artery road on one side, and a creek on the other side?

Interesting mall. Our malls are in a building with a big long hallway in the middle of the building with doors and doors of stores on both sides. I am not too much of a mall shopper. I prefer just going to Walmart or department stores. Do you have Walmart stores? It is interesting what each country has.

That does look quite a bit like a U.S. mall...I did a double take to make sure that this was your blog. :) Are the citizens there pleased with the mall?

I think this is one of the best malls in mumbai. It has been maintained very nicely. Raheja has given all the shops on lease so that it can maintain the mall up to the mark. It has also been awarded the best mall award in 2006 & 2007. We all love this mall & regularly visit the mall for shopping or just friends meeting at the food court.

along with the malls come the traffic jams and congestion - especially around the holidays... i prefer smaller towns and shops, or outlet malls...
